Summary report for the online survey based on National Women Policy.

Question 1 : Country Women's Association is a continuation of the policies enacted in ....? 

 

·         National Women Policy was launched in 1989 in The Sixth Malaysian Plan (1991-1995).

Question 2 : What is the meaning of HAWA?

·         HAWA : Secretariat of the matter Women’s Affair

Question 3 : If you have an opportunity to involve a program organized by the Secretariat for Women's Affairs (HAWA) or bodies under the Department of Women, what type of activities you are interested to be involved? 

Question 4 : To implement the National Policy on Women, Action Plan Women and the decisions taken by the Government of Malaysia at the international level, particularly implementation of the Beijing Action Plan and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

Question 5 : What is the rational establishment of this policy?

·         Category 1 : Provides guidelines for integrating the contributions of women in national  development process.

·         Category 2 : Ensure women's views and voices are adopted in the decision-making processes at all levels

·         Category 3 : Increase and strengthen partnerships between women's fair and equitable with men in all aspects of life to strengthen the family institution and community development and community

·         Category 4 : Culture for gender equality among all people in all sectors

From the opinion of one respondent said that, this policy should have in government policy due to the increasing population of women in public life today. Moreover, in educational institutions, groups of female student are more dominated than male students in their learning. This can be seen when there are job opportunities in Malaysia are nowadays where, most company took women as their employees, particularly in the areas of management, accounting and hospitality.
